I-1.3 To recognize and respect the unique qualities, abilities, and potential of each child. This ideal is personal to me, because I always felt like I different I knew I did not learn the way other kids learned. On a professional approach this make me think outside the box when it come to children that are not learning as quickly, a light bulb goes off like maybe its a different approach I need to take with that child. I-1.7 To use assessment information to understand and support children's development and learning, to support instruction, and to identify children who may need additional service. This ideal is personal to me because I didn't show the signs of a child that had a learning disability I was never chose for any of those special test, I think if I was I could have done a lot better in grade school. On a professional level these assessments have shown me show much, They really bring teaching to a broad level. These test show you what our children need. DEC 1. We shall rely upon evidence based research and interventions to inform our practice with children and families in our care. Evidence is key it gives you the upper hand in dealing with families, even though each situation is different there is someone that has experienced similarity and we must be willing to do the research. 2. We should use every resource, including referral when appropriate, to ensure high quality services are accessible and are provided to children and families. This what I mean about doing research, we must be willing to go the extra mile to make sure our families have the right services that fit their needs. Aunt Martha is a good place I love networking with them, just because they offer a lot don't mean that have all the answers. Its my job to look outside my comfort zone to properly be of service. Notes: This class has taught me to look outside the box, it has been key to broadening my outlook on Early Childhood Education.
