Three deeply felt leanings! Well one of them I would have to say is being able to appreciate when the instructor didn't see my papers as I saw them. I first I was like oh my she is being really strict, but I start to pay attention and realized that I needed to put more patience in my work. My schedule only allowed so much I plan on continuing my education and all the notes that I received in this class will go forward with me. Second will be researching different organizations for my blog on a local and international level, I almost forgot how many resources are available to our families. Most importantly I got to learn from my peers, this is one of the most amazing experiences for me. Seeing and reading from all of them that share the same passion as I do. So of the post I be simply amazed and if I am reading a fictional book of some sort. My colleagues are beyond gifted and I am sure they will all do well in this field! My long Term Goal! Will be to open up my own facility where a percentage is designated to children with disabilities and to have a staffed that is properly trained to handle those children. Farewell
I am very fortunate to have cross paths with all you, I will miss our weekly encounters and knowledge you all have shared. Mrs. Ernst your input has been well needed in correcting my errors. Colleagues your mind skill set has allowed me to progress to open up to different ways of getting better results. I appreciate and wish you all the best!

Zero to three is a organization that deal with infants they up until the age of three. zerotothree.org is a website I used earlier in this course I was not able to find the careers tab but I would love to work with the parents helping the understand the process the child is going through in the early stages. This organization offers workshops and a variety of different resources to help families. If I resided in that state it would be a resource I have available to my families that I serve. Ada S McKinley is a organization that provides assistance to families for utilities and food. Annually the have a coat drive to assist the community in keeping warm. But more importantly they provide a place for children to go after school and offer them assistance with home work. As the children get ready for employment they assist in job readiness skills. I would apply for the youth intervention specialist, I come from the neighborhood and a program like this encouraged me and gave me a safe place to be on weekends. Cook County Department of children and family services is a place I though about seeking employment as a case worker dealing with children that are suffering from neglect. I feel as thought I could advocate for them as well as help mom get on track. Children suffer more than we know and to be able to be that safety net for a child is so rewarding.
CASA Which stands for court appointed special advocate, This is a organization that helps children get back into the homes that have been removed due to negligence. They assist the child with the court procedure as well as being a support system for the entire family. They are currently seeking advocates and to assist with the younger children I would apply for this position to help the children feel comfortable and them return home safe. Mathnasium This is a facility that teaches children of all ages that are struggling with math, They are currently seeking tutors. I will apply for this position because I enjoy the basic concept of math. South Suburban Shelter
This agency deals with women and children that have been affected by domestic violence, I looked on website and currently not hiring. But they have a position for care aide that looks after the children in a learning setting while parents seek treatment or employment. I will apply for this position to help the children stay on track and focused. I chose this facility because it is very close to my home and I always ride pass there with vision of one day owning it. I have seen at least three other locations not sure if they are a franchise or company owned! There parking lots are always have heavy traffic and bus services as well I have not really investigated them to the fullest extent but I like the flow I see from the curve, I often just seat across the street and watch around 5:30 it encourages me. The benefits our career professionals enjoy: Aunt Martha's House This is a company that have a variety of locations and offer different services at each locations, But it interest me because of the assistants I have heard that come out of this organizations. There are tremendous amount of success that happens with the assistants of this organization. Mental Health Juvenile Justice Liaison To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. I have a background in Human Services as well, I am eager to reach kids at what ever level need be, to see them have the opportunity at a better life. I like exposing to different avenues not just them but the family as a whole. By doing so it gives them different avenues to explore that can bring a form of structure to there well being. The Northeast Indiana YMCA I used to whole a position with them in the past as the Youth Intervention Specialist, I was in charge of the after school and summer programs from ages 7-13. I really enjoyed this position and it have stuck with me up until now, I saw I had a passion for children. The position I would love to apply for would have been youth director, but it is not currently available.
https://nodayoffs.files.wordpress.com/2012/08/flood-inquirer-news.jpg We are only as successful as the impact we have on each others life. We must keep continue to reach for those who are drowning to build a stronger community! No man left behind will build unity to a solid foundation, of love, integrity, independence and respect. I believe this poster will be effective because it speak in the sense of going beyond to aid and assist the next person to succeed. We all want the same thing is for our children to benefit from us, so if you see a colleague or a parent struggling don't look the other way. We must be willing to reach back and be of help to one another.
Mary, I would like to thank you for all your encouraging words that you have left on my post they were very uplifting through out this course. I have look forward to reading your posts week after week. I value you opinion and always take something away from what you have shared. I wish you nothing but success, you are indeed a great asset to the early childhood community. Twylnn, the way you speak and write shows proof you are indeed in the right field we all have our gifts to bring to the table and I am almost certain you can get some laws made and grants approved. Your post motivates me to learn more writing techniques. This field is blessed to have you apart of the team. Wishing you nothing but the best!
Which aspects of the groups made for the hardest good-bye. Are high-performing groups hardest to leave? I believe the part of the groups that make it hard to day good by is the Norming stage this stage is basically the part in my opinion that we bond, we no longer need much guidance from the leader and we begin to learn from each other. No I don't believe that high-performing groups are the hardest to leave, I have been in groups that was not successful at all but the things I learned from that group and separating from those whom I have build relationships with was very emotional for me. Groups with the clearest established norms? Yes as I mentioned above the norm stage for me is bonding and this is what happened in this stage. This is like beginning to walk its a little scary but you excited to be on your own. What sorts of closing rituals have you experienced or wish you had experienced? I really haven't experienced many closing rituals other than receiving a certificate of completion with a few pizza's and a salad. But what I would have like to experience was like a small ceremony that acknowledge each person for their contribution and skill set that help bond the group. How do you imagine that you will adjourn from the group of colleagues you have formed while working on your master's degree in this program? I think it will actually be a bit of separation anxiety because I really enjoy reading their post, there are some very talented individuals in this class and have great writing skill. I will hope that one day I would get those skills I know I have to slow down, I know I am not able to focus for a variety reasons, but reading their post I really inspires me. I know I will truly miss them once this program come to and end. Why is adjourning an essential stage of teamwork? I believe its like closure to accomplishing something, while we all look forward to completing what we set out to do we begin to get separation anxiety. I think its just natural knowing that the people who have been interacting with are eventually no longer going to be there. That support system is leaving all those encouraging words are going to be gone... But adjourning my be a bit sad, but its a sense of feeling complete!
The conflict I am experiencing is with a parent due to her student having a body odor. I have spoke to the parent and not the child at all about this. My approach was what I appear to be a soft approach. I asked the parent to come in because I felt that it would be a face to face moment instead of a letter or phone call. This mother was furious with me threat to remove her child from the program and everything. So I ignored it for a while which now I know I was being a escapist (Conflict is avoided or given into; personal goals may not be important; conflict is not seen as a viable alternative Dan O'Hair page, 228) But unfortunately it gotten out of hand to the point children began making fun of the child, so I had to attempt to get through to mom once again this time I had to be serious and let her know that I am mandated to report all forms of neglect. She explained to me that she has problems financially washing and that its not on the top of her list. But if I was aware of Meta communication I would have used it. I would have felt better is I would have asked mom, is there a reason this keep occurring, is there anything I could do to help this situation? I must say I could have been more responsive, I should have been able to get this a quicker resolution before it got to the children teasing him. Children are going to be children but me being more responsive could have avoided this situation. I asked a colleagues imput and Mr. Torn feel as though I let it go on to long and that I actually allowed neglect to go on. I agree to certain extent, if I felt that child was in danger it would have been reported instantly. Mr. Torn is a stickler and may deter parents away from him because of his ways.
What is the one thing that surprised you the most? and Why?I will have to say the fact that my teenage daughter, my mother and I all scored in the same range of 53-68 as moderate in the aggressiveness scale. The reason why I am so surprised is because these are two of my biggest critics, they are constantly on me about being over aggressive so I was certain they would have scored hire than me. But now they both want to say your just direct and to the point you don't like small talk but they claim I'm not as bad as they portray me to be they just exaggerated a lit bit. Which is good to hear, I don't want to be to direct to where people feel uncomfortable or that they can talk to me. What other insights did I gain this week? One insight that I did gain is that my anxiety is not as bad as I thought it was, I thought that I was trembling soaking wet material when it came to public speaking. But according to this test I am not that bad. I was once told when I spoke the great job I have done, but I was convinced I spoke like I was on a witness stand. I received a standing ovation which I thought was out of pity but my husband confirmed to me that I did a great job. I see people that speak often and they said you have normal anxiety issues that we all face, its not easy getting in front of people to speak. I am just glad this test help me confirmed my feelings are normal.
I do find myself communicating differently with people of different culture and religion. In our work place we respect each other on a very positive level. But I am very careful when dealing with those who has a different culture when you are comfortable with people and working with them it builds relationships and families. But I never want to be to comfortable where I am forgetting the things that are important to them. We have a Muslim secretary, I have to remember not to invite her to my daughters Christmas play or indulge in her any type of Christian activities our of respect. So yes for this reason I do communicate with her differently but not in a negative way, just reminding myself of my boundaries. She is very understanding and I had to explain to her because I never wanted her to feel left out, but by me knowing her beliefs and I know not to involve her in certain things.
