I do find myself communicating differently with people of different culture and religion. In our work place we respect each other on a very positive level. But I am very careful when dealing with those who has a different culture when you are comfortable with people and working with them it builds relationships and families. But I never want to be to comfortable where I am forgetting the things that are important to them. We have a Muslim secretary, I have to remember not to invite her to my daughters Christmas play or indulge in her any type of Christian activities our of respect. So yes for this reason I do communicate with her differently but not in a negative way, just reminding myself of my boundaries. She is very understanding and I had to explain to her because I never wanted her to feel left out, but by me knowing her beliefs and I know not to involve her in certain things.

I agree with you I find myself communicating differing depending on my audience. I am from a rural community so there is not a lot of difference in culture. I always try to make eye contact with the audience and to be the best listener I can. By listening it shows them that you care and what they say is important.
